With no source of income, often no legal documentation, little to no knowledge of the language, or of the food, with no shelter and no network to rely upon? Luckily, they are able to turn to African Services Committee (ASC).
African Services Committee is a human rights non-profit organization dedicated to improving the health and self sufficiency of the African community and anyone who needs our services. African Services Committee provides health, housing, legal, educational, and social services to thousands of newcomers each year in New York City. ASC has also worked on the frontlines of the global AIDS epidemic since 2003; operating three clinics in Ethiopia, and through advocacy and policy work in the U.S. and abroad.
The United States is closing the doors in the face of human suffering. We ask you to acknowledge that there is room for all of us here. We seek your compassion in opening your hearts to the newcomer with few resources to find their footing in a new land, and to the beneficiaries of our Ethiopia HIV and reproductive health clinics to enable us to help restore well-being to families with few resources.
Help us continue to serve the poorest families in Ethiopia and the surge of immigrants coming through our doors in Harlem seeking much-needed direct services at a time of great fear and uncertainty. We ask for your generosity in donating to African Services Committee. African Services is a lifeboat, in a sea of trouble, for immigrants from more than 110 countries every year. Your donation will go directly to ensuring that every client lands on their feet.
